About us

My name is Koko Godlo from East London in the Eastern Cape and I am the Sports, Music & One of Major Regional Developers. I have produced the Great Makhaya Ntini, Monde Zondeki (Both Proteas Cricket Players), The Famous Noni Tenge, Unathi Myekeni (Both Women World Boxing Champions), I have also produced female rugby, Football and Cricket players such as Zintle Mpupa who is outside the country at the moment with the South African Ladies Rugby team participating in the World Cup Sevens. Kholeka Dubula [One of the Top Selling Gospel Artist]; Super and Mashava and recently the New Kid on the Blcock Anisto from Duncan Village.

The 3rd Annual Eastern Cape Music Awards is an Initiative to promote the Eastern Cape born and bred music artists and those who have been residing in the Eastern Cape for more than five years and also to put the Eastern Cape Province at a competitive level with other major Provinces of South Africa in terms of Development; Producing and Marketing to curb migration of local artists and producers to other Provinces to seek fame and fortune [i.e. Gauteng; KZN].

I have also produced the 1st Annual ECMAS Awards which were held on the 17th of October 2015 at the Wilsonia Multipurpose Centre in East London and recently I have produced the very successful 2nd Annual ECMAS Awards which were held at the Abbotsford Christian Centre on the 25th February 2017.  All the above mentioned Sports personnel and Musicians are from the Eastern Cape. KK Production has also promoted big successful Music Festivals and World Title Boxing Fights here in the Eastern Cape.

ECMAS is targeting the Human Rights Month which is March 2018.As wel 1st March 2018 we will honour some of our Fallen Music Icons from the Eastern Cape such as Ma Mirriam Makeba, Zim Ngqawana, Mankunku Ngozi, Stompi Mavi, Margaret Mcingana, Victor Ndlazilwana, Dudu Pukwana, Eric Nomvethe, Saba Mbixane, Umfaz’oMnyama and many more. We want to make sure that all the artists from our province stay here and stop that exodus of moving to other big cities, even if they move they must be recognised at home first because its not easy to be recognised by the other provinces if you have not been recognised at home. South African Music industry is dominated by the Eastern Cape musicians and ECMAS wants to make sure that this does not change.

Eastern Cape has also played a big role in our politics by producing the first two Presidents of our Democratic Country in the name of President Nelson Mandela and President Thabo Mbeki.

The Eastern Cape is regarded as a Tourists Destination of Choice by most Tourists inside and outside the country  because of its Natural Environmental Resources; Heritage, Cultural and Political History and this is why ECMAS is targeting BCMM (Central City of the major cities in the Province) as the Initial Host City for the 3rd Eastern Cape Music Awards. We want to create more job opportunities for the people of the Eastern Cape as we

are the second poorest province in the country. Our people must not depend to the government for survival. This is what this project is for because for us to stage this event we must use the local businesses to source goods and services to stage this event and thus allow local businesses to generate income. SMME’s must must benefit a lot.
